East Sussex Hospital
June 7, 1917

Dear Sir,

I am very sorry I could not write sooner as they don't sit me up here as they did in your hospital. I am feeling a lot better & the Sister said I will be able to get up in about three weeks. This hospital is right on the sea-front & the doctor here said it is a very remarkable operation & I have a lot more to thank you for than I thought. I believe God guided your hand.
This letter is being written for me but I shall be able to write myself as soon as I get up. Please remember me to the Sisters.
With kindest remembrances to yourself,
Yours very gratefully,
Pte. [Private] A. Forrester (p.p. E.B.)
